2 crore vaccine doses in a day...Mission accomplished: PM Modi celebrates his birthday with this new record!

India has set a historical record on Covid-19 vaccination on Friday, on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, by administering over two crore vaccine doses, accomplishing the mission of giving a crucial push to the country's vaccination campaign to beat the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the cumulative doses administered in the country on Friday had reached 2,03,68,343 at 5.27 pm as the record high feat had become a significant turning point to the country's drive of inoculating vaccine doses for all the eligible people within this year, at a high time when there have been several predictions over the third Covid wave, that may go to the peak in the last week of October.

Union Home Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had taken to social media and wrote in Hindi, "A gift to the Prime Minister on behalf of health workers and people of the country. On the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, India has crossed the historic figure of administering 2 crore vaccine doses in a day, setting a new record. Well done India!". Through this record, the total number of doses administered in the country has crossed 78.72 crores.

As the sequel of the new record, the daily vaccinations in India had crossed the one-crore mark for the fourth time in less than a month. Earlier, the one-crore marks were recorded on September 6, August 31, and August 27. Mandaviya has said that this is the fastest pace at which one crore doses have been administered. The country had crossed the mark of 1 crore vaccines on Friday afternoon, which throw more weight to the affirmation that India will end the day by recording a historical feat in vaccination.

On Friday afternoon, Mandaviya took to Twitter and wrote, "On PM Narendra Modi Ji's birthday, till 1.30 pm, the country has crossed the mark of 1 crore vaccines, the fastest so far, and we are continuously moving forward. I believe that today we will all make a new record of vaccination and give it as a gift to the Prime Minister." On Thursday, Mandaviya had called for a major push to the Covid-19 vaccination drive during Prime Minister Modi's birthday on Friday, saying it would be the perfect gift for him.

The BJP has asked its units across the country to help get a large number of people vaccinated on the occasion. India took 85 days to touch the 10-crore vaccination mark, 45 more days to cross the 20-crore mark and 29 more days to reach the 30-crore mark. According to PTI, India took 24 days to reach 40 crores from 30 crore doses and then 20 more days to cross the 50-crore vaccination mark on August 6. The total number of doses administered crossed the 75-crore mark on September 13.

BJP National President JP Nadda took to social media and wrote, "2,00,00,000 mark crossed! This figure is a reflection of New India under PM @narendramodi’s leadership. India has set a path in successfully fighting COVID with visionary & diligent leadership. Congratulations to those who got vaccinated & those who made this campaign a success."
