Actor aides the affected people amidst the silence of the government!

One of the well renowned actors in Tamil Cinema and political hopeful Rajinikanth had today presented the houses for about ten families affected in Cyclone Gaja in Tamil Nadu's Nagapattinam district in the middle of no concrete measures flagged by the government.

In the month of November 2018, Cyclone Gaja, one of the very severe cyclonic storms erupted from the North Indian ocean had caused critical and unprecedented damages in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu while it was in its last leg after smashing the grounds of Sri Lanka and during its storming tenure that lasted for about ten days, it had claimed about forty five lives across the coastal areas that was hit by the cyclone. The districts like Nagappattinam, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Pudukottai, Karaikal, Trichy and Ramanathapuram of Tamil Nadu were declared as the worst affected districts in which about 5000 boats were destroyed and thousands of houses were demolished resulting to the major displacements.

Nagappattinam has been one of the districts that was vastly devastated by the hands of the cyclone where most of the local residents had lost their houses and left stranded on streets and due to the severe and massive destruction that the people had faced especially in Nagappattinam, Tamil Nadu's top actor and the political hopeful Rajinikanth had assured that the affected people will be sheltered in new houses and as declared, Rajini's people forum had constructed about ten houses in the villages of Nagappattinam with the estimate cost of Rs 1,85,000 per house.

After finishing the constructions, Rajinikanth had today called on ten affected families to his residence in Chennai and presented the keys for them for getting relocated in their new residences. While speaking about the relocation, a woman from one of the affected families had said that Rajinikanth had aided the people which no government had never thought of.

Nagappattinam district secretary of Rajini's People forum stated that they had chosen ten severely affected families for whom these houses were presented and added that these houses were built by acquiring no support and help from the government and further claimed that they have been engaging in providing more welfare schemes for the affected people in the district.
