Actor Vadivelu meets MK Stalin...Why and is he coming back to Cinema? Here's his answer!

Popular Tamil comedy actor Vadivelu has on Wednesday met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, for the first time since the latter came to power in the state. Vadivelu has met the Chief Minister at the Chief Secretariat and donated Rs 5 lakh for the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund (CMPRF) to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in the state. Vadivelu has joined the club of celebrities who contributed to the relief fund to aid the state government's measures to contain the pandemic and to enhance the medical infrastructure to address the health crisis.

After meeting the Chief Minister, Vadivelu had praised the state government's efforts to beat the pandemic and he hinted about what has been expected from him by the fans - becoming active in cinema. In a minutes-long address to the reporters after meeting the Chief Minister, Vadivelu has spoken about his possible comeback to cinema and about the issues that are brewing in the state. He has spelt his support to the DMK government's efforts in curbing the Covid-19 outbreak.

Speaking to the reporters, Vadivelu said, "I have met Chief Minister MK Stalin. Happy to see that he spoke with me like a family member. I have donated Rs 5 lakh to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund." Responding to a question of how the Tamil Nadu government is functioning, Vadivelu said MK Stalin has turned the attention of the world towards him in containing the pandemic in one month of assuming power. The actor noted that the Chief Minister has wonderfully executed the COVID-19 vaccination campaign. He said that it's happy to see Stalin's efforts to make people receive the vaccine.

By citing that women are happy through the government's schemes including free bus travel, Vadivelu said, "I think it's truly a golden reign for the state." On the front of Covid guidelines, Vadivelu has lamented about the apathy of people in adhering to the guidelines issued by the government including wearing masks and receiving vaccine doses. He said, "I have received my first shot of the Covid vaccine and I will get administered even with 40 vaccines if I asked to receive. People must take the vaccine to save the generation. So, kindly go and take your vaccine dose."

In a significant hint about his return to the Tamil cinema, Vadivelu has said that a good thing will happen definitely. Vadivelu is one of the doyens in Indian cinema and reigned the world of comedy in Tamil for several decades. Vadivelu is the first comedy actor to have a fanbase equal to star heroes. Being a phenomenon, Vadivelu has acted in hundreds of movies and had become a household name across the beyond Tamil Nadu. He was on the peak of Kollywood during which he decided about politics.

In the 2011 Tamil Nadu assembly polls, Vadivelu had campaigned for the DMK and its alliance led by late DMK President Karunanidhi. During his political campaigns, he had strongly flayed Jayalalithaa's ADMK and Vijayakanth's DMDK during seeking votes to DMK. However, DMK had lost the election while Jayalalithaa had become the Chief Minister. After Jayalalithaa had come to power, Vadivelu's market had drastically declined in Tamil cinema as his presence on the screen was reduced and the movie producers were hesitant to rope in Vadivelu in their movies as they would invite trouble from the Jayalalithaa regime.

On the other side, several comedy actors had come to light to replace Vadivelu's reign. In the last decade, Vadivelu had acted only in four movies as the legendary comedian had taken a huge break from the industry. As the DMK has come to power in the state, the actor has met Chief Minister MK Stalin and praised his efforts in containing the pandemic. While the reporters questioned him about his future appearances in the movies, Vadivelu hinted that good things will definitely happen.

He further said that there have been talks going on and there are several movies. "Good things will happen" he cited. He has mentioned the OTT platforms as children of cinema and said, "We have to go in the flow of acting as per time changes." He was questioned about the growing issue of diving Tamil Nadu and declaring the western part of the state as Kongu Nadu. He said, "There is Ramnad and Orthanad. Is it possible to divide them? Why Tamil Nadu has to be divided when everything is well in the state. Let's not talk politics. My head is spinning after hearing all these kinds of stuff."
