Actor Vivek is hospitalized in Chennai, gets treated in ICU as he is in critical condition!

Exactly one day after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine shot, well-renowned actor Vivek is hospitalized in Chennai on Friday after he suffered a cardiac arrest and breathing discomfort. The development had shocked thousands across and beyond the borders with many raising concerns over the efficacy of the vaccine. 

According to reports, Vivek had developed health discomforts at his residence in Saligramam, Chennai following which he was admitted at SIMS hospital in Vadapalani for further treatments. The 59-year-old actor, who is a Padma Shri laureate, has been getting treating in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under the continuous observation of a team of doctors. 

The sudden hospitalization of the reputed comedian and social worker had drawn huge attention with fans and fraternities are expressing their prayers for the actor's speedy recovery. The reports say that Vivek had recently traveled to the North Indian states for movie shooting. On Thursday, Vivek had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and along with Tamil Nadu Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan, Vivek had also appealed to the people not to be reluctant in receiving the vaccination. 

He also urged all those eligible to take the COVID-19 vaccination. According to a news agency, Vivek was admitted to the hospital with complaints of chest pain and the actor is in a critical condition after suffering from a cardiac arrest. He is currently being monitored by a team of doctors at the private hospital and has been taken for angio treatment. Vivek has been an active social worker and a vivid campaigner of preserving the environment. 

As a protege of former Indian President Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Vivek had launched an initiative called 'Green Kalam' to plant trees and campaign for the eco-friendly environment. He has been a forerunner in social work besides being an actor and he also had created awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic. On Thursday, he had received the vaccine shot at the Omandurar Hospital in Chennai. 

Following the vaccination, he addressed the media during which he urged all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. He said that wearing masks and observing physical distancing are the public safety measures to keep everyone safe and the medical way to protect is the vaccine. He added that the vaccine is the only thing that can save a life. He also thanked Health Secretary Radhakrishnan, the dean, and doctors of the Omandurar Hospital for the vaccination. 

However, Vivek had developed chest pain and breathing difficulty exactly one day after getting the vaccination, which raised concern over its efficacy. He has been getting treated at the ICU and under the continuous observation of the doctors. Several fans and fraternities are expressing their wishes to the Padma Shri actor to get a speedy recovery.
