Adipurush vs Hindu outfit: Why the Hindu Mahasabha demands to file FIR against the makers?

While Prabhas-starring Adipurush has already been in hot potato over its controversial storyline and flawed move-making, the flick has drawn a trouble from a Hindu outfit that demanded that an FIR should be filed against the moviemakers. The development has come as an irony at a high time when the Hindutva bodies and supporters have been praising the movie to the skies.

The Hindutva outfit in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh has claimed that the movie has disrespected Sanatan dharma and that an FIR must be filed against the makers. The Lucknow unit of Hindu Mahasabha has given a written complaint with the demand to file an FIR against the producer, director, star cast, and entire team behind the movie Adipurush.

In its complaint, the Hindutva body has alleged that the clothes, outfits, and dialogues have disrespected Sanatan dharma. The complaint, which was lodged at Hazratganj police station, said, "The film industry has been constantly targeting Sanatan because it doesn't have the guts to make a movie on any other religion."

According to reports, Shishir Chaturvedi of the Mahasabha said, "The film industry funded by Dawood Ibrahim is constantly targeting Hinduism, our Gods, our holy books, and traditions. Adipurush portrays Lord Ram, Sita Maiyya, Hanuman ji in a highly objectionable manner. We demand that the presentation, dialogues, choice of words and clothes be completely changed."

"This is a wholly wrong depiction of our Lord's life", Chaturvedi added. By urging the central and state governments to ban the film for its soft Hindutva touch, Chaturvedi further said, "If Nepal can ban the film, what is stopping us from doing so". "How can it be possible that while a grand Ram Temple is being built, such films, which shamelessly ridicule our Gods be allowed to play?", he asked.

As per the reports, it appears that Chaturvedi wasn't aware of the reason why Adipurush was banned in Nepal - it was banned in Nepal owing to the objection that Adipurush had wrongly depicted the birthplace of Sita. Echoing Chaturvedi's demand, the Hindu Mahasabha's chairperson Chakrapani Maharaj has urged that Manoj Muntashir, who wrote the dialogues for the movie, must be apprehended. "He (Manoj Muntashir) deserves to be in jail for hurting the feelings of millions of Sanatanis", Chakrapani contended.
