Vadivel, who was a resident of Rayanur in Karur, had been serving as an ADMK's local secretary and a three-member gang had surrounded Vadivel in a place called Thirumaanilaiyur during the night hours on February 4 and brutally hacked him to death. His throat was slit by the murderers and after taking Vadivel down, the three people fled the spot.

Vadivel was left in pool of blood and the local people have rushed him to a private hospital. Vadivel was then taken to Coimbatore for further treatments. However, he had breathed his last on the way to Coimbatore. His body was taken back to his native and the incident was reported to the police. The police officials of Pasupathipalayam had filed a case and launched a probe.

As per the preliminary reports, Vadivel had asked Deva, an auto-rickshaw driver in Muthurajapuram, Karur, Rs 5,000. However, Deva didn't give money and when Vadivel contacted the former, Deva was not responding. Due to Deva's conduct, it has been reported that Vadivel had attacked Deva. Developing an enmity against Vadivel, our sources say that Deva had called some people from his native Lalapettai and plotted to take down ADMK leader Vadivel.

Deva and his associates surrounded Vadivel on February 4 and hacked the latter to death. When the police were looking out for Deva and his associates, the murderers Deva, his brother Balasubramanian, and his associate Sekar had surrendered to the Pasupalayam police on Wednesday. When the police questioned them, they confessed that they had attacked and killed ADMK's Vadivel. Based on their confession, the police had arrested them and lodged them in Trichy Central Prison.
