An ADMK leader meets DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin...Here's what happened!

A meeting that recently happened in Madurai in the sidelines of Jallikattu event has sparked a furore in the ADMK amid the intra-party political chaos as the meeting was between an ADMK leader in Madurai and DMK's Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is the Tamil Nadu Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development.

Udhayanidhi Stalin recently came to Madurai to inaugurate the globally-popular Alanganallur Jallikattu in Madurai and as it was his first visit after becoming a minister, his visit was closely watched across the state. Interestingly, Udhayanidhi met his uncle MK Alagiri, the estranged DMK leader who is the elder brother of Chief Minister MK Stalin.

Udhayanidhi's meet with Alagiri drawn sharp attention as it the first time that MK Stalin's family member met Alagiri amid their brotherly conflict.  While Udhayanidhi Stalin's tour of Madurai, his meeting with Alagiri, and his participation in the Jallikattu were going viral, a meeting with a rival leader has added spice to it. According to our sources, ADMK's Solairaja, who is the opposition leader in the Madurai Corporation, has met Udhayanidhi Stalin.

The meeting has sparked a furore in the ADMK as it has come when Solairaja was set to have a good rapport with the DMK. Though Solairaja oppose the DMK before the cameras, he has been showing a relationship with DMK behind the screens. As Solairaja directly met Udhayanidhi Stalin, it fueled the speculations whether Solairaja has decided to join DMK.

However, Solairaja had denied the talk that he will join DMK. Speaking to a news agency, Solairaja said, "I am the president of Tamil Nadu Kabaddi Club and I am also the vice president of Tamil Nadu Olympic committee. I have come to politics after being a part of sports development. The Kabaddi club has been demanding the government to conduct Kabaddi World Cup and the Chief Minister announced in the assembly that Tamil Nadu will host the Kabaddi World Cup."

"(Udhayanidhi) has increased the pension for the retired sportsmen from Rs 3000 to Rs 6000. On behalf of Tamil Nadu Kabbadi Club, we met and thanked sports development minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for increasing the pension. Moreover, we requested him to conduct the Kabaddi World Cup in Madurai.", Solairaja added. By citing that sports and politics are different, Solairaja further said, "I met Udhayanidhi not with the ADMK functionaries but with the staff of Kabaddi Club. I have also informed Madurai ADMK secretary and former minister Sellur Raju about our meeting. I will remain in ADMK and will never join DMK."
