After Rajini's shock, BJP makes a political twist...What does it mean to ADMK?

In what would mean a surprise for ADMK after facing a political storm from the allied party BJP over the CM candidacy, the Central ruling party has on Monday claimed that the Chief Ministerial candidate for the National Democratic Alliance will be decided by the state ruling ADMK.

The statement from the BJP has come when the Central ruling party has been tussling with the ADMK by stating that the CM candidate of the alliance will be decided by the Central leadership of the BJP. The party's remarks had come despite the ADMK had named Edappadi Palaniswami as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming elections. Refusing to endorse Edappadi Palaniswami as the CM candidate, the BJP leaders had been pressing that Palaniswami is the CM candidate for ADMK and not for the alliance.

Despite being in the alliance, the BJP has directed a revolt with the ADMK over the CM candidacy and it had developed a rebel against the ADMK leadership in the election in the state amid knowing that the Central ruling party has a weakening ground. BJP's revolt had come when the party kept its fullest hope on Rajinikanth after the actor announced his political entry. With having confirmation that Rajini is taking a political plunge, the BJP was brave enough to revolt against the ADMK over the CM candidacy.

However, Rajinikanth had recently ended his political drama by announcing that he will not enter politics owing to health reasons. Though bracing up the shock from the superstar, BJP had strongly hoped that Rajinikanth would extend his voice to the party ahead of the elections and kept revolting with the ADMK. However, Rajinikanth had on Monday reiterated that he has decided not to enter politics and he will not extend his support to any political parties.

After Rajinikanth had tightly closed his gates for politics, according to reports, BJP is left with no strong option other than staying in alliance with the ADMK to have political grounds in the state ahead of the assembly polls. On Monday, hours after Rajini's announcement, the state witnessed a change in BJP's stand after it started to bow down by claiming that ADMK will be deciding the CM candidate for the National Democratic Alliance.

Speaking to reporters on Monday in Srirangam, Trichy, BJP National Secretary CT Ravi said that ADMK is the major partner in the alliance in the state while BJP is the minor partner.  He said that ADMK leaders Edappadi Palaniswami and Panneerselvam had asserted in front of Home Minister Amit Shah that ADMK and BJP will contest in the polls together. He added that ADMK will decide who is the CM candidate as it is the major partner of the NDA.

The ADMK had been objecting to the BJP over its claims on the CM candidacy while assuring that it will contest the polls in the National Democratic Alliance. The state ruling party had recently passed a resolution that Edappadi Palaniswami is the CM candidate and the party had also given more power to Palaniswami and Panneerselvam to decide on the alliance and seat-sharing for the upcoming assembly elections.
