After Senthil Balaji, this DMK MP lands in trouble: IT raids his properties in Chennai...Here's what we know so far!

Veteran DMK leader and party's MP S Jagathrakshakan has come under the scanner of the Income Tax (IT) department as the latter has stormed into the properties linked to the MP on Thursday in Chennai. The raids from the IT have come months after the country's premier economic intelligence agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) took DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Minister Senthil Balaji into its custody.

When the crackdown on Senthil Balaji has drawn a national attention, it has sparked fury from the opposition leaders who alleged that the ruling Modi regime is orchestrating these raids through the central agencies to suppress the opposition and dissenters. While ED is strengthening its grip on Senthil Balaji, who is in prison, it was also reported that several DMK leaders are being monitored by the central agencies and that they will be targeted soon.

As reported, the IT department sleuths had during the morning hours of Thursday - October 5 stormed into the properties linked to DMK MP Jagathrakshakan, who had served as a Union Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy, Commerce and Industry, Information & Broadcasting in the previous Congress-led UPA regime. Jagathrakshakan is currently representing the Arakkonam Lok Sabha constituency in Tamil Nadu. He is known to be among a cluster of leaders close to DMK's high command.

What we know about the IT raids?
