Ajith gets ready for his next...But, will Valimai hit the big screens before Beast?

Director H Vinoth has earlier said that the works will begin after the Pongal holidays and as he announced, the preparations for Ajith 61 shooting have begun and it has been reported that the shooting of the movie will start at the end of January.

On the other hand, sources assert that the shooting for Ajith 61 will only begin after the release of Valimai. The movie has missed the Pongal release and a meeting that took place in Mumbai recently has become a turning point to finalize the Valimai release. The Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown have been partnering against the entire cinema industry, which has made the fans of Ajith brace up for his next movie in an unprecedented fashion.

Valimai will be the first theatrical release for Ajith in three years after Viswasam and the wallop caused by the pandemic has drastically affected the movie and pushed to defer the release several times before. Amid the hunt for movie updates, the fans had finally got the official announcement that Valimai will hit the big screens during the Pongal holidays.

It was announced that the movie will get released on January 13 after skipping the Diwali race in 2021. With the confirmation, the fans got prepared to celebrate the movie release and they were eagerly waiting to watch the movie not only for Ajith but for his new avatar, the movie's storyline, and the promising trailer.

However, days ahead of the movie release, the movie team has announced that the release has been called off and deferred in light of the new set of restrictions and the spread of the Omicron variant. While the team announced a postponement, it hasn't divulged the tentative time of the release. As the fans are three weeks into the New Year, the movie team had levied with more expectations on the release and it has denied a deal from the OTT platform to premiere the movie by saying that Valimai was made for the theatres.

Amid such developments, our sources say that Valimai will be released in March 2022, weeks ahead of the release of Vijay's upcoming 'Beast', which has been scheduled to get released in April 2022. Recently, Ajith had met Valimai producer Boney Kapoor at the latter's Mumbai office during which the duo discussed the movie release. During the discussion, Boney Kapoor has put out a plan of releasing the movie during the last week of March 2022 and Ajith has agreed with the plan for the new release.
