Ajith Kumar's father passes away at 84...Kollywood mourns for the actor's loss

P Subramaniam, the father of popular Tamil actor Ajith Kumar, passed away on Friday morning in Chennai due to ill health. He was 84 years old and was suffering from paralysis and other age-related ailments.

Subramaniam, who hailed from Palakkad in Kerala, is survived by his wife Mohini and three sons - Anup Kumar, Ajith Kumar and Anil Kumar. Ajith Kumar, who is the stardom of Kollywood, married to actress Shalini and living with his son, and a daughter.

As soon as the news of Subramaniam's death broke out, condolences poured in from the Tamil film industry and Ajith Kumar's fans on social media. Many expressed their grief and sympathy for the actor and his family. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed his grief through a condolence note which shared on social media, read "I was saddened to hear the news of Actor Mr. Ajith Kumar's father Mr. Subramaniam's demise due to ill health. Suffering from the separation of his father. My deepest condolences to Ajith Kumar,"

Actor Kamal Hassan shared a  note on the same which reads, "I heard the news of the passing of Thiru. Subramaniam, the father of Ajith Kumar. I express my condolences and sympathies to Ajith Kumar and his family for the loss of his father." 

According to reports, Ajith Kumar learned of his father's passing while on vacation in Europe with his wife Shalini and children. He is foreseen to return to Chennai soon to perform his father's funeral rites. At approximately 10:00 am, his mortal remains will be cremated at the Besant Nagar crematorium.

On the work front, Ajith Kumar's next film is yet to be officially announced. He was earlier supposed to collaborate with director Vignesh Shivan for his 62nd film, but the project got shelved due to unknown reasons.
