Yes, the fans had got an answer for what they have been waiting for as 'Valimai' is all set to hit the big screens on Pongal 2022. While it was anticipated that the movie aims to hit the theatres during Diwali or Christmas this year, the movie has skipped these two festivals and will be making it to the theatres during next year's Pongal.
Producer Boney Kapoor has on Wednesday taken to social media and wrote, "Happy to announce that #Valimai will hit the screens on Pongal 2022." The surprising update from the producer has been going viral as it has relished the fans across and beyond the borders. The update of the movie release has come at a high time when the fans are storming the internet with the affirmations that the teaser of 'Valimai' will be released on Thursday.
It was also speculated that the release date will be out along with the teaser. However, the movie team had amazed the fans by officially announcing the release of the movie. Though Boney Kapoor had shared the official release, he is yet to divulge the exact date of the release. If the predictions of the sources were to be believed, the movie will hit the screens on January 14th, 2022, on the occasion of Pongal and if the Covid-19 pandemic didn't pose a much bothering, the fans will relish seeing Ajith on the big screens after three years.
As the fans celebrate the double delight -with the update of the release of the movie and teaser, they have been trending the hashtags on social media. On Tuesday, the movie team had unveiled the first look poster of Karthikeya Gummakonda on the occasion of his birthday. Karthikeya had played antagonist to Ajith in the movie and recently, Valimai's shooting was wrapped up with the Russian schedule following which the post-production works had begun.
Bankrolled by Boney Kapoor under the banner of Bayview Projects and directed by H Vinoth, Valimai stars Ajith in the lead role while Huma Qureshi, Yogi Babu, Pavel Navageethan, Bani J, and Pugazh in important roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music while Nirav Shah and Vijay Velukutty had done cinematography and editing respectively. As Valimai is out of the Diwali race, it is now most likely confirmed that Rajini's 'Annaatthe' and Simbu's 'Maanaadu' will be clashing for Diwali.
