Following the success of Thunivu, it was announced that Ajith would kickstart his AK 62 directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by Lyca. Unfortunately, director Vignesh Shivan dropped out of the project due to creative differences, and it was widely assumed that the actor would be working with a new director for his next film. It has recently been rumoured that AK62's music composer has also been switched, marking the first time the two have worked together.

New reports from reliable sources on the internet suggest that AK62 will be the next film directed by Magizh Thirumeni, with Santhosh Narayanan of Jigarthanda, Madras, Kabali, and Vada Chennai fame, signing on for a role. Earlier as part of Vignesh Shivan's original plan, Anirudh was announced to be on board to provide the film's score.

For the past two days, Santhosh Narayanan's name has been gaining steam on social media. The composer has recently changed his Twitter profile picture, implying a fresh and exciting chapter in his life is just around the corner fueled the guess for the fans. If this came to be true, this will be his first time collaborating with Ajith. His most recent score was for Vadivelu's movie Naai Sekar Returns. In addition, Ajith is angling to debut his new movie on the occasion of Diwali.

Lyca Productions will be bankrolling this Ajith starrer. It is anticipated that the announcement will be made soon. If the film hit the big screens this year Diwali, we can expect one more Ajith-Vijay clash at the box office if 'AK 62' locks its horn with 'Leo' for the Pooja holidays. 'Ajith 62' will be a short project, and the makers have planned to finish the film work in a single stretch. Magizh Thirumeni earlier directed Thadam, Thadayara Thakka, and Meaghamann.

It has been speculated by fans that the entire mass story told by Vijay and Thirumeni is actually an AK 62 movie, as in 2019 there were rumours that the director will helm Vijay, who had previously given his approval to the story. The film's makers have been finishing up negotiations with the film's actors and crew in prepping for the film's announcement.
