For all Simbu fans, you need to wait more...Maanaadu release is postponed again! Here's why

In a shocking piece of news for the ardent fans of Simbu, the actor's much expected Maanaadu is not yet ready to hit the screens as the release has been deferred for yet another time. The shocking announcement of postponing the release has come hours ahead of its scheduled arrival. Maanaadu was slated for the theatrical release on November 25- Thursday and the announcement of deferment has come in the evening hours of Wednesday - November 24 and sent a message for Simbu fans that time has not come and they need to wait for more.

Maanaadu has been branded as a movie of Simbu's strong comeback and the unanticipated events had saddened the fans and put a more challenge on the movie team. The theatres were preparing to screen the movie on November 25 so were the fans to relish their favourite actor on big screens. However, to everyone's unfortunate, the disappointing news made headlines that the movie release has been postponed. Maanadu producer announced the news on social media and his message gave a sense that he was equally disappointed.

Taking to social media, producer Suresh Kamatchi said, "This (Maanaadu) has been a creation with a lot of dreams. I was awaiting its release like a pregnant woman awaiting to deliver her child. I announce with deep pain that Maanaadu release has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons. I will announce the release date later. I regret for the difficulty caused." What is sadder was that the movie team has made ample promotions on social media about the release of the movie.

SJ Suryah, who plays an important role in Maanaadu, took to Twitter on Wednesday and wrote, "Advance Diwali wishes. Book your tickets now to celebrate the real celebration." However, hours after his tweet, the movie release has been postponed. This is the second crucial time that Maanadu is facing deferment. Earlier, it was strongly speculated that the movie will join the Diwali race along with Rajini's 'Annaatthe'. However, days ahead of Diwali, the movie team announced that the release has been postponed.

The movie team has said that the decision of coming out of the Diwali race was taken with the view of avoiding the race with Annaatthe, which could affect the reception of Maanaadu and disrupt commercially. On October 18, the movie team has announced that Maanaadu will be released on November 25. Movie director Venkat Prabhu took to Twitter and wrote, "Our Deepavali is pushed to 25th November!!." The fans had braced up the delay only to face another delay.

Earlier, Suresh Kamatchi has said that he is very happy with the way the film has shaped out and has no doubts that it will do well even on the grounds of intense competition. He added that the decision of deferment was taken by keeping in mind various stakeholders including distributors who might face losses due to limited allotment of theatres. While fans were waiting for November 25, they would now be ending November 24 with the disappointing news that the movie won't be released as scheduled and this time, the fans brace up another shock that there has been no official release date.

During the movie's pre-release event that was held last week, Simbu broke down in tears over issues he faced. The movie has been considered to have a strong comeback from Simbu and speaking at an event, Simbu had broken down in tears and said that he has been facing a lot of issues and that he needs love and support from his fans. He said, "I am facing a lot of issues and problems. They are making it really hard for me. I'll take care of them but you (fans) take care of me." He stopped his speech brief and after seeing him getting emotional, the crowd began to cheer him up and praised him.

He had thanked the producer and the entire team of the movie for their support. According to reports, Simbu could have indicated the problem of receiving death threats. Simbu's father T Rajendar had said Maanaadu was being delayed intentionally. Last month, Rajendar and his wife Usha had filed a complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner against any stay on the release of Maanaadu. Usha has also said that she would sit on a fast in front of the Chief Minister's residence if there was any trouble in the release of Maanaadu, starred by her son.

In their complaint, they had alleged that the movie was aided by the Tamil Nadu Current Distributors' Association. T Rajendar has also said that some people in Tamil Nadu are playing politics in the name of the current distributors' association, which has been formed in a non-democratic manner. The first look posters and trailer of Maanaadu were already released and earned great reception. Maanaadu is a sci-fi thriller and will see Simbu in a never seen before avatar. It will probably be the big movie of Simbu post his physical transformation.

Bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi under the banner of V House Productions, Maanaadu is directed by Venkat Prabhu. While Simbu plays the lead role, Kalyani Priyadarshan, SJ Suryah, Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, and Manoj Bharathiraja would play in lead roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed music whereas Richard M Nathan and KL Praveen have done cinematography and editing respectively.
