Nearly a week after the alleged shooting was reported in Kanchipuram district in which 18-year-old Mukesh was shot dead by his friend, the police department has now recovered the gun that was used by the accused to kill his friend.

It has been reported that the police have got information on the gun while interrogating the accused Vijay. The incident had happened on Tuesday, November 5th, 2019 when Mukesh visited Vijay's house in Venkatamangalam which resides in Kanchipuram district. It was about 11.30 am when Vijay had allegedly shot Mukesh and after the incident had reported, he was reportedly at large when the police have teamed up to locate him. The next day, accused Vijay surrendered in Chengalpattu court but failed to produce the gun after which the police have taken him into their custody for interrogations.

By having that information, the police have stormed the particular location where they had recovered the gun.

The initial investigations have identified the duo as close friends since their childhood. Mukesh was pursuing his studies at a polytechnic college while Vijay was employed with an online food delivery company. On Tuesday, Mukesh visited Vijay's house after which the incident had occurred. When the gunshots were heard, Vijay's two brothers and sister in law who were at the house rushed to the spot where Mukesh was surrounded by blood while Vijay was freeing the house. After informing Mukesh's parents, they had taken the victim to a private hospital in Vandalur and by citing the severity of the shooting, he was then referred to Chrompet government hospital from where he was later transported to Rajiv Gandhi government hospital but before reaching the hospital, he has died on the way.
