In what has become a dream come true moment, young and promising Indian cricketer Varun Chakravarthy has finally met one of his favorite heroes - Thalapathy Vijay and the cricketer, who shined in the IPL 2020 and raised as a promising sportsman, took to Twitter and shared a photo that he clicked with actor Vijay, which has become a huge surprise for the ardent fans of the actor.
It was a fanboy picture of Varun where he can be seen happily fisting with Vijay which had resembled the scene from 'Master' movie where Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, who plays as an antagonist, would be fisting against each other. With the perfect moment for a fanboy to relish, Varun had shared the photo which has been getting rampantly spread across social media and among the fans of Vijay.
Taking to Twitter, Varun said, "Ulla vandha powera-di, Anna yaaru?… THALAPATHY..", which are the words scripted in the teaser. The photo is getting viral as it was the first photo of actor Vijay that was shared on social media since the launch of the movie's teaser. Varun Chakravarthy, a native of Tamil Nadu, had a breakthrough in the recently concluded IPL season.
The 29-year-old cricketer had played for Kolkata Knight Riders and he rose to fame after he dismissed Dhoni in one of the league matches against CSK. Varun shined with a five-wicket haul in the season and his significant performance had gifted him a ticket to play for Team India to play against Australia. However, Varun was later removed from the squad owing to injury.
During the IPL season, Varun, in an interview, had revealed that he is a diehard fan of Thalapathy Vijay, which excited Vijay fans that one of them is playing in the league. Now, Varun had his fanboy moment after meeting Vijay. Varun had even mentioned that he put Vijay's 'Thalaivaa' look as a tattoo on his arms.
His tattoo was visible when he was on the training sessions and it was widely shared by Vijay fans. In his video chat with well-known Tamil cricket commentator Baski, Varun said he is desperate to meet Vijay and he asked Baski to let him know about the prospect of meeting Thalapathy. His dream has now come true after he met Vijay and according to reports, he had met the actor at the latter's residence in Adyar, Chennai.
As a key bowler for Kolkata Knight Riders, Varun had played in 13 matches and got 17 wickets. After getting placed in Team India, Varun expressed his happiness of getting inducted into the Indian team. However, injury has spoiled his dream of entering the Indian team and on the other hand, his dream of meeting Vijay has come true. Vijay's 'Master' is all set to release and it has been slated for release during Pongal 2021. The teaser was released recently and created a new history of becoming the most-liked teaser on Youtube in India.
