Makkal Needhi Mayyam leader Kamal Haasan on Saturday came out in support of Anna University Vice-Chancellor MK Surappa. He has released a video message today regarding the support on Twitter. 

He said, "When Surappa was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor, I was asked whether there were people in Tamil Nadu who were not qualified for this. That question still lingers and that position has not changed. Surappa's activities were to elevate Anna University to world-class. Social activists, the media, and the opposition are raising their voices every day that all the ministers in the dairy and public welfare departments are steeped in corruption. We may have an alternative view on Surappa's policy leanings and political positions.  I will not be watchingidly. 

The tent of the righteous will not be idle. This is not a problem for academics and politicians. War for those who want to live honestly and for corrupt bigwigs.  Will he refuse to destroy his identity if he refuses to cooperate with corruption? The list of those hunted by them is huge, from Sakayam to Santosh Babu. 

What is the fate of the common man if the authorities are tired of fighting with them and getting voluntary retirement? This should not be allowed to continue.  Another Nambi Narayanan should not be formed here. Those who want to stand on the side of virtue in the conflict between honesty and corruption must break their silence. We must become the voice of the voiceless. Honesty is our only asset; We need to get rid of these corrupt Tilaks who want to sell it and put it in their mouths"
