When India was playing against England in the first test match that was held in Chennai, one of the spectators who was near the boundary line asked English bowler Moeen Ali a weird question. Ali was fielding the boundary line during which a man called him by his name and asked, "Moeen Ali, Valimai Update?'. When Ali turned towards the game, the video clip of the question had got added to the line of events where the Tamil fans have been asking 'Valimai' update.
'Valimai' is Ajith's upcoming movie that is directed by Vinoth and bankrolled by Boney Kapoor under the banner of Bayview Projects. The movie has been on the floor for more than a year without giving an update to the audiences on the release of its posters, songs, and trailers. The ardent fans of Thala Ajith had expressed their disappointments over a delay in providing an update of the movie and they have been criticizing the production team for remaining dumb over their requests on releasing an update.
While the state is back to normalcy from the lockdown as the theaters have resumed and the movies are regularly screened, the lack of update from the movie team of Valimai had earned a voice of dissent and some of the fans had begun asking about the Valimai update in the political and sporting events. At one instance, a fan was seen holding the placard asking Valimai update to Prime Minister Modi when the latter visited Chennai recently.
It was in line with that one of the fans had asked English bowler Moeen Ali at Chepauk Stadium, Chennai about the 'Valimai' update. Days after the fan asked Moeen Ali about the Valimai Update, Chennai Super Kings has on Thursday released a Valimai (strong) update, not from the movie, but from the IPL Auctions 2021. The auctions of players for the upcoming IPL season had begun on Thursday in Chennai and CSK took to Twitter and released the Valimai update after it bought Moeen Ali, the man who faced the question asking Valimai update, to the team for the upcoming season.
Moeen Ali was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 7 crore. He came under the hammer with the base price of Rs 2 crore. Taking to Twitter, Chennai Super Kings said, "Lion Alert. Moeen is ours and that's the Valimai Update". In another Tweet, Dhoni's army said, "We got it Ali figured out. Welcome to the Superfam". Moeen Ali has become a significant pick for the Men in Yellow and the franchise has also picked Krishnappa Gowtham, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Hari Nishanth.
On the other hand, the events unfolded by the fans asking for the Valimai Update had disappointed actor Ajith, who penned an open letter to his fans in which he said he is upset over such actions. He said, "For the last few days, the activities of some of the people under the guise of my fans asking for the update of Valimai in government, political, sporting events had upset me. As announced before, the update about the movie will come at the right time. I'll co-operate with the producer to decide that time. Until that, please wait patiently. Cinema is just entertainment for you. But for me, it is my profession. My decisions depend on my work and social welfare. Our respect in this society is decided by our actions".
"I request my fans to observe dignity and discipline in public places and in social media by having this in mind. I hope that those who truly love me will act accordingly", Ajith penned in what has become his first open letter to his fans over his upcoming movie Valimai. Let's OTT Global had earlier said that Valimai's first look will be unveiled in March 2021.
Valimai will be the second outing for Boney Kapoor with Ajith so is for director Vinoth, who directed 'Neerkonda Parvaai' previously that was starred by Ajith. Produced by Boney Kapoor under the banner of Bayview Projects, Valimai has Ajith in the lead role while Huma Qureshi has been roped in as the female lead and Kartikeya Gummakonda will be playing in the important role. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing music for the movie while Nirav Shah will be taking care of cinematography.
