For all the ardent fans of Puneeth Rajkumar in Sandalwood and beyond, get ready to relish the actor through his adventurous journey as he is coming on big screens for the final time through his dream project 'Gandhada Gudi'. The teaser of the movie was unveiled on Monday - December 6 and has been going viral on social media as the fans celebrate seeing the actor on the screen amid grieving his untimely demise. The movie has been made as a nature documentary and is all set to hit the theatres next year.

The release of the teaser had coincided with the birth anniversary of Puneeth's mother Parvathamma Rajkumar. The teaser that runs for over a minute brings back Puneeth's smile and promises a treat to the fans and audience. The documentary explores Karnataka's jungles, beaches, and underwater world.

According to reports, this documentary has been in the making for a long time as Puneeth has teamed up with well-known wildlife filmmaker Amoghavarsha JS to take the walk through the woods of Karnataka. Sharing the teaser on social media, Amoghavarsha wrote, "Appu's dream, an incredible journey, a celebration of our land and its legend. It's time for the return - "Gandhada Gudi". Amoghavarsha had won awards for the 2019 natural documentary Wild Karnataka, which he made in collaboration with fellow wildlife filmmaker Kalyan Varma.

The title means 'Temple of Sandalwoods' in Kannada and interestingly, it was also the title of Puneeth's father Rajkumar's 1973 blockbuster, which was based on the importance of protecting the sanctity and the wealth of Karnataka's jungles. Taking about the project, Puneeth Rajkumar had tweeted back in this October, "A story was born decades ago. Our people, the glory of our land, our grassroots are spread all over the world. Inspiration for generations was indomitable. The time has come to recount that history."

He also had shared some of the posters of nature as hints to his dream project. Gandhada Gudi is produced by Puneeth Rajkumar's PRK Productions and Mudskipper. It is being dubbed as one of the movies that Puneeth had worked to reach a wider audience beyond Karnataka and when his dream project hits the screens, he won't be there to celebrate the moment.

Puneeth Rajkumar, fondly called Appu by his fans, has passed away on October 29 at the age of 46 due to massive cardiac arrest in Bengaluru. He suffered chest pain while working in the gym following which he was moved to the hospital. Despite the treatment, he had breathed his last at the hospital which deeply anguished the fans. He was laid to rest with full state honours on October 31, at the Kanteerava Studios in Bengaluru.
