After their previous two films, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Simbu, and A R Rahman have come up with a musical gangster movie titled 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu', which will be released in two parts. The first part - 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu: The Kindling' has been slated for a theatrical release on September 15.

The posters, songs, and storyline have attracted wide attention from the fans as they are eager to watch this much-awaited flick. While they are getting ready to storm the theatres during the early morning show on the first day of the movie tomorrow, they have now got a piece of advice from the movie's director Gautham Vasudev Menon, which is unprecedented as it's probably the first time the director has come up with such advice.

He has advised the moviegoers to get a good night's sleep the day before, which means on Wednesday- September 14, and immerse themselves in the movie as it might take some time for the audience to get settled with the story and the characters. Simbu plays the role of Muthuveeran, a young man from a poor background who has migrated to a major city to pursue his studies.

The narrative centers on migrant workers, primarily Simbu, and his battles for social identity on behalf of his community and himself. Menon previously stated that Silambarasan would be seen in five different looks as the movie narrates his journey from youth to old age, similar to Vaaranam Aayiram. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is Gautham's first attempt at telling the story of a socially marginalized group in a drama, as he is known for his works in the romantic genre. So, he took note of the moviegoers as he intended.

Addressing the movie's event, Gautham Menon said, "We have created a mood through Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu's trailer. I am not sure if everyone can be successful with their trailer cuts. We didn't want to cheat the audience with the trailer. That's why we have created the mood in the trailer in sync with the film's mood. When fans come to the theatre, I'd want them to forget everything and enter the world of the film. Maybe, the story could travel elsewhere, but I want them to travel with the characters. Those who are coming to the 5 am shows, I'd want you to sleep well the previous day and then watch the film", he advised.

The story is written by B Jeyamohan while Simbu and Siddhi Idnani will play lead roles in the film. Radikaa Sarathkumar, Siddique, Neeraj Madhav and Aangelina Abraham will be seen in supporting roles. The film has music scored by AR Rahman. The film's digital rights were acquired by Amazon Prime Video, and the film is distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies, and produced by Ishari Ganesh under his banner Vels Film International. Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu's Telugu version, 'The Life of Muthu' was supposed to release in theatres on September 15, but has been postponed to September 17.
