Ayodhya land dispute: Here's the final verdict of the Supreme court!

Amidst the series of furor, expectations, and speculations over the final verdict of Ayodhya land dispute case, the Supreme court constitutional bench headed by the Chief Justice of India had today delivered the final judgment over the case that has been battling in the legal and religious grounds for the past seven decades.

In the final judgment which was dictated unanimously by the five Justice bench with having no dissents, the Justices had pronounced that the Ram temple can be built in the disputed land of Ayodhya with the overview of a trust under the possession of Central government which will set up board of trustees exclusively to monitor the construction of the Ram temple and the apex court has directed the Central and Uttar Pradesh state governments to provide five acres of alternative land for Muslims to construct Masjid and further instructed Central government to draft and formulate the scheme and to constitute the trust in next three months.

As scheduled, the constitutional bench headed by the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has gathered around 10.30 in the courtroom to dictate the final verdict which was packed with about 10,000 pages and during their course of pronouncing the verdict, the constitutional bench has dismissed the Special Leave petition filed by Shia Waqf board, the Muslim body which was one of the claimants of the land and the petition filed by Nirmohi Akhara was also dismissed by citing that Nirmohi Akhara was not a shebait or devotee of the deity Ram Lalla after which the bench had upheld the document of Archaeological Survey of India which said that there was a structure under the ground while cementing the Babri Masjid and the court observed that the structure doesn't possess the conformity that it belongs to Islamic origins. In its reports, the Archaeological Survey of India didn't assert that the Hindu temple was demolished to construct the mosque.

Through the judgment, the Supreme court noted that the demolition of Mosque in December 1992 was against the then apex court order and further stated that the Allahabad High court, which delivered its final verdict in 2010, has committed a mistake by splitting the disputed land into three and sanctioning one third to each party. The final verdict of the apex court comes after conducting daily hearing of the case which began on August 6th, 2019 after the mediation panel that was set up the Supreme court had announced its failure in attaining the consensus with the concerned parties. Throughout the marathon hearing, the Supreme court bench had reserved the judgment on October 16th which has brought seven decades-long disputed case, that had seen the episodes of violence and communal riots between Hindu and Muslims, to an end.

The final verdict was pronounced with having surety that the disputed site was under security apparatus where the Chief Justice of India had yesterday discussed the security grid with Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary and Director General of Police. By citing the possibilities of violence, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has deployed about 4,000 paramilitary personnel to Uttar Pradesh and the state government has imposed Section 144 restriction in Ayodhya district until December 10th, 2019.

After the final verdict was pronounced, the Sunni Waqf Board has said that the board will respect the judgment but however expressed the unsatisfaction and claimed that they will decide further actions. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had urged everyone to accept the judgment of the apex court and should maintain peace. While commenting on his notion, the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar stated that the verdict should be welcomed by everyone in the benefits of social harmony. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has claimed the judgment as a landmark one and appealed to the public to maintain peace and calm.

While addressing the reporters, The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has expressed that the organization is dissatisfied with the Supreme court's judgment and further asserted that they will go through the order following which the board will decide on seeking the review for the verdict. The spokesperson has said that they can't accept the ruling of the Supreme court and added that they will explore the legal resources. While dissenting the judgment, AIMPLB has called on the people not to host any form of demonstration and urged to maintain harmony.

Indian National Congress has said that the party respects the verdict and asked all the parties and all the communities to adhere to the secular values and to maintain peace and harmony.
