A bad touch: How a former DMK MLA caught in controversy for pushing Chennai's mayor?

Former DMK MLA Ranganathan has caught in controversy for pushing Chennai Mayor Priya Rajan in a public event in Chennai. Ranganathan's contentious behaviour has sparked fury and as the visuals of the incident go viral on social media, the Tamil Nadu-ruling party DMK was pushed to initiate necessary against the former legislator.

Ranganathan had served as a Tamil Nadu MLA from the Villivakkam constituency in Chennai and his illicit conduct on Chennai's Mayor has occurred recently at freedom fighter Dheeran Chinnamalai's memorial event. Notably, the event, that held in Guindy, had seen the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin and other senior party leaders.

Chennai Mayor Priya Rajan and former MLA Ranganathan were among the participants. The leaders were seen paying floral tribute to Dheeran Chinnamalai's portrait and Ranganathan was spotted pushing the Chennai Mayor and brushing up against her. Shockingly, it wasn't the first time that Ranganathan had indulged in such controversial activity as he did harass the Mayor during the party's campaign for the Erode East bypoll.

During the campaign, Mayor Priya was seen greeting the people and Ranganathan, who was standing behind her, had turned the Mayor with force towards the camera. The former legislator kept his hands on her shoulders and turned her. Now, as he again behaved in a contentious manner with the Chennai Mayor, he has been getting slammed by social media users.

The visuals from the event in Chennai had also shown that when Rangathan had kept his hands on the Mayor, she reacted in a way like she was disgusted at the manner she was getting treated. Sharing the visuals on social media, a vice president of Tamil Nadu BJP, Selva Kumar wrote, "Former MLA Ranganathan is keep on brushing up Chennai's young mayor Priya. Will the Chief Minister take action?"
