Big announcement from MK Stalin...This former ADMK leader gets a top post in DMK!

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President MK Stalin has awarded a top post to former ADMK leader who joined DMK in December 2022. The announcement about the same was made by DMK's general secretary Durai Murugan on Saturday - April 15.

Kovai Selvaraj used to be an ardent supporter of estranged ADMK leader O Panneerselvam, who is now waging a legal battle against ADMK's general secretary Edappadi Palaniswami. Selvaraj was Palaniswami's staunch critic and amidst back-to-back setbacks for Panneerselvam both legally and politically, Selvaraj shocked Panneerselvam by switching sides from his camp and joined DMK.

Selvaraj joined DMK in December 2022 in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin. As a native of Coimbatore in the ADMK stronghold where DMK struggles, Selvaraj's decision to join DMK has come with an advantage of strengthening the party in the Kongu belt. Four months after joining the DMK, he has now been awarded a top post to disseminate MK Stalin's leadership and his achievements.

Selvaraj has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary of DMK's media wing. An announcement made by DMK General Secretary Durai Murugan, which was notified in Saturday's edition of party's mouthpiece Murasoli, said that Kovai Selvaraj has been appointed as deputy secretary (spokesperson) of the party under Rule 18 and 19 of the party's bylaw.

It is pertinent to note that Selvaraj has his initial political stint with Congres party and he was expelled from the party in 2015 after he publicly appealed to the Congress party must support ADMK in RK Nagar bypolls. The then Tamil Nadu Congress Chief EVKS Elangovan had expelled Selvaraj from the party for taking pro-ADMK stand. After getting fired from Congress, Selvaraj joined ADMK and now, months after joining DMK, had got a top post from the party's high command.
