Big Blow to England...India finishes in style by recording a 'WOW' victory!

In what has become a perfect sporting retaliation, Virat Kohli-led Indian Team has defeated the English visitors by 317 runs and recorded a 'WOW' victory in the second test match of a four-match test series against England and leveled the series 1-1. India's spectacular win was made possible by the delivery of a splendid show at the crease by Kohli's fleet.

India's bowling-line up had driven the team to a commanding position by restricting the visitors below 200 runs in both innings while the batting line-up of the host had done its best to put big scores on the board. The second test match was hosted by MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai and Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. While India finished its first innings for 329 runs with a remarkable ton of 161 runs, the visitors were bowled out for 134 runs. On the Indian side, Ashwin had bowled extraordinarily and got five wickets, which had become his 29th five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

With a strong lead of 129 runs, India began its second innings by keeping the match under its control. This time, Ashwin rocked in bat and displayed a show of a complete all-rounder. The Chennai boy was resplendent at home by delivering an excellent comeback and scored a century. Ashwin has scored 106 runs off 148 balls, which had become his fifth test century and first against England.

Armed with Ashwin's ton and Kohli's half-century, India had kept the game under its full control. The host ended the second innings after scoring 286 runs and with the existing lead of 129 runs, India had given a massive target of 482 runs.

On Monday- when the match was into its fourth day, the visitors began to chase the target. However, the Indian bowlers had strongly applied brakes on England from reaching the target. The pitch had turned into a spinner-friendly letting Ashwin and Axar Patel contain the English batsmen. At the end of the fourth day, England had scored 53 runs and lost three wickets and they were 429 runs away from the target. The visitors resumed their play on Tuesday only to witness a collapse.

In the chase for a massive target of 482 runs, no English batsmen had crossed 50 and India had further gained the commanding position of the game on Tuesday. In the chase for 482 runs, England had ended its campaign for 164 runs by losing all the wickets. On the Indian side, Axar Patel has got five wickets and registered his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket while Ashwin has got three wickets and Kuldeep Yadav had ended up getting the rest two. In the end, India has recorded a magnificent victory by defeating England by 317 runs.

Through the splendid victory, India has leveled the series 1-1 and for delivering a complete all-rounder performance, Ravichandran Ashwin was picked as the Player of the Match. The Chennai-based cricketer had got eight wickets and scored 119 runs including a century and a five-wicket haul. The third test match will begin on February 24 and it will be hosted by Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad.
