Suriya and Gautam Vasudev Menon have been one of the most celebrated actor-director pairs of Kollywood and the creations from the pair had presented perfect entertainments, complete treats, and incessant savors to the fans and audience. The pair had worked in a couple of movies 'Kaakha Kaakha' and 'Vaaranam Aayiram' which had become significant movies in their respective careers.
After 12 years, this pair has now reunited with the same scale of energy and momentum to rock the screens and to hit hat-trick victories, in what has become a happy news for Suriya fans. Suriya and Gautam Menon have come together for the short film, which is one of the nine short films part of Mani Ratnam's anthology titled 'Navarasa', which will be released exclusively on Netflix soon. The nine short films will be directed by nine reputed directors, making the anthology with the ingredients of human feelings.
Suriya began the shooting for the short film last week and the actor has completed the shooting within a few days. Directed by Gautam Menon, the short film has roped in PC Shreeram as the cinematographer. According to reports, Suriya and Gautam Menon had wrapped up the shooting, however, the cast and crew are yet to be announced. The pictures from behind the scenes were leaked on the internet amid the swiftly completed shooting.
The pictures, which were widely shared on social media, had shown Suriya interacting with Gautam Menon during which the actor was seen wearing a striped T-shirt and blue denim and in another photo, Suriya can be seen riding the Royal Enfield on the streets of Chennai. Being the first public pictures of Suriya since the release of Soorarai Pottru, his fans have been sharing the pictures and relishing to see the short film of one of the most celebrated pairs.
As Suriya and Gautam Menon had reunited after 12 years, fans are expressing that they are eager to watch the short film. 'Navarasa' will be one of the remarkable anthologies of Kollywood. Produced by Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapekesan, the anthology will cover nine 'rasas' (emotions) - anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace, and wonder. The anthology will be exclusively released on Netflix across 190 countries.
Along with Gautam Menon, reputed directors like Director KV Anand, Ponram, Karthik Subbaraj, Halitha Shameem, Karthick Naren, Bejoy Nambiar, Rathindran R Prasad, and Aravind Swami, who will be making his directorial debut, will be directing each rasa, which will culminate into a complete anthology.
Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi, Prasanna, Nithya Menen, Parvathy, Revathy, Prakash Raj, Vikranth, Gautam Karthik, Simha, Ashok Selvan, Poorna, and Aishwarya Rajesh are some of the actors in Navarasa. Suriya was lastly seen in Sudha Kongara's 'Soorarai Pottru' which was released exclusively on Amazon Prime on November 12. The movie has received magnificent reception across and beyond the borders and the success had elated Suriya to a new height. Following Soorarai Pottru, Suriya will be acting in 'Vadivasal' directed by Vettri Maran, and another movie directed by Pandiarajan.
