A big surprise for CSK fans...MS Dhoni is back as the Captain: Why Jadeja has decided to step down?

In a huge transition amid the incessant backlash in the ongoing IPL series, the Chennai Super Kings have embraced an official change of guard as Ravindra Jadeja has stepped down from the captaincy. The transition has become a surprise for the CSK fans and through Jadeja's relinquishment of captaincy, MS Dhoni is now the captain of the CSK.

The legendary cricketer is all set to lead the team and the fans can expect the magic of the mastermind. The announcement has come from nowhere and it has been going viral with a national spotlight. The CSK's management has said that Jadeja has decided to concentrate more on his game and requested Dhoni to take over the captaincy which the latter has accepted in the interest of the team.

In an official statement, the management said, "Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game & has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest & to allow Jadeja to focus on his game." The transition has become crucial as the team is yet to make a significant comeback in the current edition.

Being the defending champion, CSK currently stands at the ninth spot in the points table and of eight matches played, the team has won only two and its prospects to enter playoffs have been dimming. Jadeja, who took over the captaincy of CSK for the first time, had invited criticisms and he had faced a lot of pressure in sailing the team ahead.

For CSK, neither the start nor the current state is good and it is in desperate need to come back on the track when it is nearing the end of the road. Chennai will be taking on the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday - May 1 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. On Sunday, Dhoni will be back for the tosses and the fans expect that the transition pour breakthroughs for the team in the upcoming matches.
