This BJP CM, who fainted on stage, tests positive for COVID-19!

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has on Monday tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection. The development has come a day after he had fainted on stage following which he was rushed to the hospital in Ahmedabad. 

Vijay Rupani was addressing an event in Vadodara and during his speech, he suddenly fainted on stage. Shocked to see the development, the officials and his security team had rushed the Chief Minister to a hospital in Ahmedabad where he underwent COVID-19 testing. 

The treating hospital has on Monday issued a health bulletin in which it has said that Rupani's sample was collected on Sunday night and sent for RT-PCR test which has returned positive on Monday. As the Chief Minister has confirmed to have contracted the viral infection, the hospital added that he had mild symptoms. 

According to reports, Dr. RK Patel from the UN Mehta Hospital said, "Rupanji fainted due to tiredness and dehydration. We have done a thorough checkup and all his tests are normal". 

The reports say that he had been meeting thousands of people for the last few days. Rupani had been vigorously campaigning for local body polls. Vijay Rupani is doing stable and it has been reported that he may be hospitalized for a week.
