BJP leader Khushbu meets with an accident in TN: How is she doing now?

Actor turned politician Khushbu Sundar, who recently joined BJP, has on Wednesday met with a road accident near Melmaruvathur in the outskirts of Chennai. The shocking incident had happened when she was on her way to Cuddalore to participate in BJP's Vetrivel Yatra, which has been organized by the state unit of the Central ruling party as a crucial campaign drive ahead of the state assembly polls.

When she was traveling near Melmaruvathur, a tanker had rammed into her vehicle, causing heavy damage to her car. Khushbu took to Twitter and shared photos of the damaged car and asserted that she is safe and not injured. Posting the pictures, the actor turned politician said that Lord Murugan had saved her and added that police are probing the matter.

She added that the container tanker rammed into her vehicle. In a series of tweets, she said, "Met with an accident near Melmarvathur..a tanker rammed into us. With your blessings and God's grace I am safe. Will continue my journey towards Cuddalore to participate in #VelYaatrai #Police are investigating the case. #LordMurugan has saved us. My husband's trust in him is seen".

She stated, "Request the press to understand that a container rammed into me and not the other way. My car was on the move in the right lane and this container came from nowhere and rammed into me. Police are investigating n questioning the driver to rule out any foul play". "Thank you so much for all the inquiries n good wishes. I feel indebted. I am safe n continuing my journey towards Cuddalore. Nothing has stopped me before this, nothing will stop me now either.", Khushbu added as she continued her journey towards Cuddalore.

According to reports, Hakeem, the driver of the lorry that hit Khushbu's car, has been arrested and taken under custody for further investigations. Vetrivel Yatra has been organized by the Tamil Nadu BJP unit in its bid to cover Hindu votes ahead of the elections. Seeking Hindu votes unscattered, the state unit has decided to defy the state government's order of not to conduct the campaign amid the COVID-19 spread.

Vetrivel Yatra is a month-long campaign of BJP during which the party would tour the six adobes of Lord Muruga (Aaru Padai Veedu) in Tamil Nadu. When it was scheduled to begin on November 6, the state ruling ADMK government had denied its permission to conduct the campaign by citing the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the party leaders had defied the government's order and started organizing the campaign across the state to consolidate and strengthen Hindu votes ahead of the assembly polls.
