BJP vs AAP: What Delhi's Manish Sisodia had to say about BJP's offer and how he sparked political heatwaves?

Ahead of big assembly polls in Gujarat, that will be held later this year, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia had sparked political heatwaves by divulging that he has received the offer from BJP to join the saffron camp.

His comments have come when AAP has plunged into the Gujarat polls and has been campaigning to defeat BJP in the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. His comments have made national headlines with both the parties locking horns as BJP has claimed that Sisodia is making up stories.

Sisodia is charged by the CBI over allegations linked to a liquor policy and in the midst of facing charges, he has said about the offer he received from the BJP where the Central ruling party has promised to shut all the cases against him if he joins BJP.

While addressing a press conference in Ahmedabad, Sisodia said, "I got a message. It had two parts. One said that all CBI and ED cases against me will be shut down. The other one asked me to leave AAP and join the BJP, and they will make me a Chief Ministerial candidate since BJP has no CM candidate in Delhi. All of these cases are false. I am with Kejriwal because I am honest." He also shared the alleged offer from BJP on his Twitter.

His tweet has come two days after the CBI had raided him and named him in the charge sheet on the liquor policy case. Sisodia further challenged BJP to do whatever the party wants to do. "My reply to BJP--I am a descendant of Maharana Pratap and a Rajput. I am ready to get beheaded but can never bow down before conspirators and corrupt people. All these cases against me are false. Do whatever you want to do.", Sisodia added and by citing Arvind Kejriwal as his Guru, Sisodia said he would never betray him.

Expressing his support to Sisodia, Kejriwal said that the BJP government is busy misusing probe agencies and plotting ways to bring down elected governments even as people suffer from skyrocketing inflation and a diving rupee. AAP has alleged that cases against Sisodia and other leaders are false and said that BJP fears the popularity of AAP and Arvind Kejriwal. Sisodia further said that Narendra Modi and Kejriwal should be the top contenders in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Reacting to Sisodia's remarks about BJP's offer, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari said that it was shameful that Sisodia was comparing himself to Maharana Pratap. "It is shameful that you are comparing to Maharana Pratap. Did Maharana Pratap make people drink alcohol? You are selling alcohol in every nook and corner. You are ignoring the cries of Delhi's women. Maharana Pratap had once taken up arms for women", Tiwari added.
