Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap to make his Tamil directorial debut! This actor to lead the film

Anurag Kashyap, the acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker who has given us gems like Gangs of Wasseypur, Dev.D and Sacred Games, is ready to explore new horizons. He is all set to make his directorial debut in Tamil with a Pan-Indian film that will feature GV Prakash in the lead role.

The young composer-actor, who has worked with Kashyap in the past as a music director, confirmed this exciting news in a recent interview. The project, which is yet to be officially announced, is expected to be a thrilling and edgy drama that will showcase Kashyap’s signature style of filmmaking. Kashyap, who is known for his realistic and gritty portrayal of contemporary issues, has a huge fan following in Tamil Nadu.

He has also acted in a few Tamil films, playing the antagonist in Imaikka Nodigal, starring Nayanthara, and making a brief cameo in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Leo, which was released in October. GV Prakash, who has been busy with multiple projects as an actor and a composer, said that he is looking forward to working with Kashyap again as he composed for his film Gangs of Wasseypur.

He also revealed that the film will have a stellar cast and crew from different industries. The shooting of the film is likely to begin soon, which is yet to be officially announced. This is not the first time that Kashyap is ventured into regional cinema. He has previously produced films in Malayalam, Marathi and Punjabi.

Anurag Kashyap has a good rapport with the Tamil industry, and never missed a chance to appreciate or hold on to his love for Tamil films. It's worth mentioning that he revealed that his film Gangs of Wasseypur was inspired by actor-director Sasikumar's debut Subramaniyapuram.
