Celebrating 'Master' Pongal along with fans: Top theater in Chennai invites trouble!

While Vijay fans are ardently celebrating 'Master' Pongal across and beyond the state, the theaters have also joined them to celebrate the release with the hope to have a potential revival from the distressed lockdown as 'Master' has become the first big movie to get released in theaters after the unprecedented lockdown. But, the theaters are imposed with restrictions as per the COVID-19 protocols and warned to face action for violations and under the grounds of violating the government norms, Kasi Theater in Chennai has invited trouble. 

Though the Tamil Nadu government has permitted the theaters to go for 100% seating capacity during Pongal, it later had revoked its order after it had caught up objections from the health experts who castigated the government that the fullest occupancy and the packed cinema halls are perfect settings for the COVID-19 spread. The government has also instructed the theaters to operate with 50% seating capacity and directed the theaters to adhere to the protocols. 

According to reports, Chennai police had on Wednesday booked the popular Kasi theater in Ashok Nagar for screening the 'Master' movie with more than 50% seating capacity. The police had booked the theater owners under sections 188- Disobedience to order duly promulgated by the public servant, 269- Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease and causing danger of the life of the Indian Penal Code. 

The theater has also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 and the visuals from inside the hall had shown that the hall was mostly occupied with many audiences seen without masks. Most of the theaters had also witnessed large crowds as the fans thronged before the theaters to buy tickets and watch the movie on the first day. Vijay's much-anticipated movie 'Master' was released on January 13 across and beyond Tamil Nadu. The ardent fans of Vijay have been celebrating the release as the Master Pongal with many went agog to watch Thalapathy on the big screens.  

The fans have been sharing their reviews on social media as the movie has got a decent reception. Master is bankrolled by Xavier Britto under the banner of XB Film Creators while Lokesh Kanagaraj has directed the movie, which marks the first collaboration for 'Kaithi' director to work with Vijay. 

While Vijay will be playing the role of the college professor, Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the antagonist, and Malavika Mohanan in the female lead. Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and Gauri Kishan will be playing important roles. The fans have been sharing their reviews on social media, which had shown that the movie has got a decent reception.
