Chennai gets ready for the grand launch of Ponniyin Selvan's first single...Deets here!

As Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' is nearing its release, Chennai is all set to witness a grand launch of the movie's first single 'Ponni Nadhi' on Sunday - July 31st. The then dream project of Kollywood is now becoming a reality and the movie has been slated for a theatrical release on September 30, 2022. 

Besides being a magnificent project, Ponniyin Selvan has a galaxy of stars and two months ahead of the release, the makers have planned to release the first single, three weeks after unveiling the teaser. As per the reports, the movie team will be organising a grand event on Sunday during which the movie's first single 'Ponni Nadhi' will be released. 

The first single will be released at an event at 6 pm on Sunday at Express Avenue Mall in Chennai. On Saturday, Madras Talkies, one of the producers of the movie, took to Twitter and wrote, "Join us to celebrate the launch of Ponni Nadhi at 6 pm tomorrow at Express Avenue Mall, Chennai." The movie will consist of two parts and part one will hit the screens on September 30. 

The movie will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The magnum opus directed by Mani Ratnam is based on Kalki's eponymous Tamil novel that was serialized in the 1950s and has remained a sensational success ever since. An adventure ride set in the 10th century, 'Ponniyin Selvan tracks the factional power struggles within the Chola empire, with the enemies of the state acting as catalysts.

The movie has successfully brought an ensemble cast together which would turn into a significant concoction of our favourite stars. Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vijayakumar, Nassar, and Balaji Sakthivel will play important roles. Interestingly, AR Rahman composed the music while Kabilan and Venba Geethayan penned the lyrics for the songs and Jayamohan has written the dialogues.
