The Vikram, Irfan Pathan, and Srinishi Shetty starrer 'Cobra' has done below-average business at the ticket windows. Even after a seven-role performance, the thriller failed to impress both critics as well as the box office. The film, released on August 31, Wednesday is having an ordeal time surviving in the theatres. Box office reports sadly state its poor collection, as it grossed less than 6 crores lastly on Thursday.

Cobra appears to have been a "disaster," negating Vikram's grand return to the big screen. Trade experts claim that Cobra has seen a dramatic drop in the number of ticket windows. It is unable to earn the level of adoration and assistance from the audience and fans that it was hoping for.

At the Tamil Nadu box office, the movie made over Rs. 12 crores on its opening day. The film's total revenue in Chennai City alone was Rs. 85 lakhs. The film's theatrical run is anticipated to pick up over the weekend and is speculated to make a collection of more than Rs 15 crores on Saturday and Sunday.

According to reports, the movie is currently experiencing a decline due to the weekday. The film made about 3.6 crores in Tollywood town, according to the official Andhra BoxOffice report. The movie is currently in fourth place among the highest-grossing Tamil movies of 2022 after earning a total of Rs 17 crore at the box office in just two days.

The makers have already tried to repair the poor word of responses, by cropping out the film run time, and the trimmed-out version was screened from Thursday evening shows as reported, which may expected to effect in performances in weekend collections, as few filmgoers are seems to enjoy the trimmed version. One of the Tweeple wrote, "Guys the trimmed version of #Cobra is too good. It's totally Engaging, go and watch it. Best psychological thriller in recent times. @Chiyaan the master at picking unique scripts".

Bankrolled by SS Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studio and helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, Cobra has Vikram playing in twenty looks while Srinidhi Shetty is the leading lady. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has made his debut in Tamil cinema by featuring in the role of an antagonist in Cobra. The movie also has Miya George, Roshan Mathew, Sarjano Khalid, Padmapriya, Mohammad Ali Baig, Kaniha, Mirnalini Ravi, Meenakshi, and K. S.
