Amidst having skeptical and distrust grounds in their respective camps inside the party's circle and with the queue of heated allegations and critics from the people and the opposition, the ADMK party is ought to witness series of embarrassing statements from the BJP ideologue and Tughlaq editor, who claimed to have played a strong role behind the uproar and revolt carried out by the Deputy Chief Minister O Pannerselvam in the party after the death of the then party's supremo and the then Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

While speaking at the Golden Jubilee commemorative event of the magazine, he said that he was the one who incited the muddle inside the party by tuning the Deputy Chief Minister Pannerselvam to undergo 'Dharmayudham' in 2017 - the moment of silence observed by the latter in Jayalalithaa's final resting place before torching the turmoil in the party that had busted the hope of Jayalalithaa's closest aide and party's general secretary V K Sasikala in becoming Chief Minister.

Gurumurthy further stated that "the AIADMK had made the arrangements to name Sasikala as the Chief Minister whereas Pannerselvam was directed to oversee and to supervise the arrangements after which Pannerselvam came to me. I spoke to him and asked him if he was a man. He asked me what he can do and as per my advice, he sat at Jayalalithaa's memorial to get some ideas".

By claiming that he played a strong role in uniting the two camps of ADMK party - one was tented under the Chief Minister Edapaddi Palaniswami while the other was under Pannerselvam, he cited that his direction to Pannerselvam to sat at Jayalalithaa's tomb had brought the change in Tamil Nadu. In his speech, he accused the state's opposition party DMK and labeled the party as the main force which is acting against the development of the state. While igniting the controversy that had added more unrest behind the screens of the ADMK party, Gurumurthy asserted that Rajinikanth's political entry would bring change in the state. He added that the state will change for the good through its people and Rajinikanth's political entry can change the state.

After his statements about the revolt in ADMK went viral, it has webbed strong response from the ruling party where on Monday, Tamil Nadu state minister for fisheries D Jayakumar has asked Gurumurthy to control his speech while mentioning about Deputy Chief Minister Pannerselvam and accused Gurumurthy on his series of attacks against ADMK party as in 2017, Gurumurthy had branded Edapaddi Palaniswami and Pannerselvam as weak men during RK Nagar byelections.

S Gurumurthy is a journalist editing the Tamil political weekly Thuglaq and a Chartered Accountant who is known for being one of the BJP ideologues and he has also been one of the board members of the Reserve Bank of India.
