Cooking prodigy: How lockdown helped this Chennai girl to create a World record in cooking?

Though the unprecedented experiment of lockdown has put many under financial and mental distress and pushed them to settle up for a new 'confined' normal, some had convinced with the fact that the restoration of normalcy is going to be challenging and they had started learning and exploring skills to spend time with what they think a perfect fit to steer the lockdown days. 

While many of us had stuck to our hobbies like turning books, a young Chennai girl has now gone beyond borders from what she began 'just to learn' during the lockdown. The lockdown has opened the gate for this Chennai girl to become a cooking prodigy. 

When many feel tough to cope up with continuous cooking, this young girl has created a world record by cooking 46 different dishes in 58 minutes. She has become the talk of the town through her feat and her impressive achievement has been getting widely shared on social media. 

The girl, SN Lakshmi Sai Sri, is a native of Chennai had on Tuesday made the feat by entering the UNICO Book of World Records by cooking 46 dishes in 58 minutes. The girl's mother N Kalaimagal said that her daughter started cooking during the lockdown. Speaking to ANI, the young girl said, "I learnt cooking from my mother. I am very happy". 

According to ANI, the young girl was trained by her mother and developed a keen interest in cooking. Kalaimagal said that her daughter started cooking during the lockdown and when she was cooking well, Lakshmi's father had suggested her to give an attempt to create the world record. After her father's suggestion, the family decided to give a try for the world record. 

Kalaimagal said, "I cook different traditional cuisine of Tamil Nadu. During the lockdown, my daughter used to spend her time with me in the kitchen. When I was discussing her interest in cooking with my husband, he suggested that she should make an attempt on world record on culinary activity. That's how we got the idea". 

After that, Lakshmi's father did research and found out that a 10-year-old girl Saanvi from Kerala had cooked around 30 dishes and Lakshmi's father had wished his daughter to break Saanvi's record following which, Lakshmi had now broken the record and entered the UNICO Book of World Records by cooking 46 dishes in 58 minutes. After the news of her world record came to light, several social media users have been commending and congratulating the girl and complimenting her cooking skills.
