'Coronavirus has the right to live like us': Shocking statement from a former BJP Chief Minister!

When the nation is battling the horrendous second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the BJP leaders are finding time to display their weird advocacies and campaigns concerning the pandemic, which in a way had stunned the country as their actions and remarks had set a bad precedent in India's war with the invisible menace. While some of the BJP leaders prescribed cow dung therapy and cow urine as the medicine for COVID-19, the former BJP Chief Minister had gone a step further by claiming that Coronavirus has the 'Right to Live'.

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has caught with a fresh round of controversy over campaigning for the pandemic that it has the right to live like humans. While addressing a press conference, Rawat said, "Seen from a philosophical angle, coronavirus is also a living organism. It has the right to live like the rest of us. But we (humans) think ourselves to be the most intelligent and are out to eliminate it. So it is constantly mutating itself."

"Man needs to outpace the virus to stay safe", Rawat added. His campaign in favour of the pandemic had stirred nationwide outrage with hundreds of thousands of social media users and flaying the former Chief Minister for advocating that the pandemic has the right to live when the entire country is crying, shouting, and screaming from the challenges and ordeal brought by the coronavirus.

His remarks have come at a high time when India is sharply pacing towards becoming the most dangerously affected country by the COVID-19 viral infection in the world. The opposition leaders had described his statement as not just insensitive, but also foolish. Slamming Rawat's remarks, one of the Twitter users said, "The virus organism should be given shelter in Central Vista." Central Vista is the Union government's project under which it is constructing a new Parliament building and a residence for Prime Minister Modi.

Rawat is not new for controversy as in 2019, when he was the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Rawat stunned people when he claimed that the cow is the only animal that inhales and exhales oxygen. Earlier, a BJP MLA in Uttar Pradesh has consumed cow urine to recommend it as the medicine to cure the pandemic, and some of the areas in the BJP ruling Gujarat had witnessed cow dung therapy as a cure for the virus. Several people were seen taking the therapy, which was not proven as the medicine to cure the pandemic. Most of the experts had warned that such therapy would cause Mucormycosis, which is a serious fungal infection.
