India has been witnessing a strong wave of the Coronavirus pandemic as the peaking cases in the country has taken its tally near to 4 million amid the center's drive of unlocking the lockdown and restrictions from the country.
India has been pacing up with the never-wished feat as it has been setting a global record through the sharpest rise of fresh cases in its territory. According to the Union Health Ministry, India has reported the biggest spike of 83,341 fresh cases in the last 24 hours till Friday morning 8 am, as the country braces up for the unprecedented wave of the viral infection.
Experts say that cases in India are rising faster than anywhere else in the world and attributed the soaring trend to the grounds of rampant spread in small towns, villages, and cities after they had taken a break from the protocols and guidelines and started large-scale gathering amid the unlocking process and the current trend signals that the nation would be witnessing such surges in the coming days.

According to Reuters, if the current trend prevails, India will only take days time to surpass the tally of Brazil and will become the second-worst affected country by the pandemic in the world after the United States. The World Health Organization has said that India's relatively low mortality rate could rise as the sequel of the rampant spread of the virus across all parts of the country.
Through the current reporting of 83,341, India has reported over 80,000 cases for the second consecutive day. According to the Health Ministry, India has reported 39,36,747 positive cases so far as of Friday morning. In the last 24 hours, India has reported 83, 341 fresh cases, and 1,096 fresh deaths.
The Health Ministry further stated that the country has reported 30,37,152 total discharges so far through which the recovery rate in the country currently stands at 77.15% whereas, with 1,096 fresh deaths, the death toll currently stands at 68,472 and the ministry added that India has reported 1.74% as the fatality rate.
Through the ministry's data, it can be learned that there are 8,31,124 active cases in the country which account for 21.11 percent of the total tally. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has tested 4,66,79,145 samples so far as of Friday morning including 11,69,795 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours.
India's road towards crossing millions has been coming in the intervals of days time. The country has crossed the tally of 2 million on August 7 and it crossed 3 million on August 23 and in the span of ten days, the country has added cases close to another one million. At the current state, India is the worst affected country by the pandemic in Asia and the third worst-affected in the world after the United States and Brazil.
