Cuddalore reminds Sathankulam... The reason is here!

40-year-old Selvamurugan from Kaadaampuliyoor village near Panrooti in Cuddalore lived with his wife and two children, who have been in the Cashew business; Recently he is said to have shifted to Vadakutthu from his hometown Kaadaampuliyoor for his business matters. 
 
He was prosecuted for many cases in the past; first, he was filed in a case for a clash in Neyveli in 2011 and subsequently charged for attempted robbery in the Villupuram district under the purview of the Pagandai police station in 2011, theft of a two-wheeler in 2017, burglary of a house, and at last speeding on a two-wheeler during corona lockdown days. 

On October 28th, he was arrested at Neyveli Block No. 26 for chain snatching in Neyveli City Police Station. A pound of gold chain and two-wheeler was confiscated from Selvamurugan on the orders of the District Superintendent of Police and was booked into the Virudhachalam Branch Jail on 30.10.2020. Following this, the prison authorities took Selvamurugan to the Virudhachalam Government Hospital on the 2nd and treated him for epilepsy treatment. Selvamurugan was then taken to the Virudhachalam branch jail. and then taken back to Virudhachalam Government Hospital on the 4th for treatment. He was reported dead at the scene at last. The matter was reported to his wife Prema and the Neyveli and Virudhachalam police stations. Police rushed to the spot and informed Criminal Court Judge Anand, the criminal magistrate who rushed to the spot, along with the video evidence, conducted separate interrogation of Selvamurugan's wife, son, daughter, and his relatives. Selvamurugan's body was later placed in the morgue and examined in the presence of relatives. His body was later taken to Villupuram Mundiyambakkam Hospital for autopsy report. 

Resulting in this, His wife Prema had filed a complaint to District Collector Chandrasekara Sakamuri and District Superintendent of Police Mr. Sree Abhinav alleging that her husband's death was a mystery and that her husband had been harassed by the police and that a proper inquiry should be held.  

Also, Prema and her children, along with relatives, were suddenly involved in a road blockade on the Chennai-Kumbakonam road in Gadambuliyur yesterday. DSP Babu Prasanth, Governor Prakash, Inspector Malarvizhi, and a large number of policemen rushed to the spot and were involved in peacemaking talks. Then Prema stated that there is an enigma in the demise of her husband. I suspect the police beat him to death. Therefore proper action should be taken against the guards involved and they need to be suspended; and she made various injunctions that the government should provide employment and relief to his family.  

Finally, Police vowed to take appropriate measures following that. The roadblock was abandoned and everyone disassembled.
