Custody: The trailer of Venkat Prabhu's first bilingual cop actioner is here...

The trailer of Venkat Prabhu’s Tamil-Telugu bilingual Custody has been unveiled and it promises to be a racy cop action thriller with a stellar star cast. The film features Naga Chaitanya as Shiva, a young and honest constable who is on a mission to bring a notorious criminal, played by Arvind Swami, to justice.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Venkat Prabhu dropped the awaited trailer by writing, "Here we go!! The non stop action begins!!! Main picture from May 12th!" The 2-minute-and-half trailer shows glimpses of the high-octane chase between the two, as Shiva faces several obstacles and challenges from his own department and the powerful enemies of the law.

Custody marks Venkat Prabhu’s debut in Telugu cinema and Naga Chaitanya’s first lead role in Tamil cinema. The film also boasts of an impressive ensemble of actors, including Krithi Shetty as Shiva’s love interest, R Sarathkumar, Priyamani, Vennela Kishore, Sampath Raj, Premji, Premi Vishwanath and Ramki.

The film has a unique musical collaboration of father-son duo Ilaiyaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja, who have composed the songs and background score respectively. The film is produced by Srinivasaa Silver Screen and has cinematography by SR Kathir.

The film is slated to hit the screens on May 12 in both Tamil and Telugu languages. Custody is expected to give a much-needed breakthrough for Naga Chaitanya, who hasn’t had a blockbuster hit in a while, and also showcase Venkat Prabhu’s versatility as a director who is known for his light-hearted comedy dramas.
