'Darbar' issue: TN Gov backs Rajini...Here's what TN minister had to say!

Apart from rocking the screens, Superstar actor and political hopeful Rajinikanth has been glued up with the spotlight on the political grounds in recent times as his statements have been spurring the controversy as equal as the amount of popularity the star has. While, on one hand, his recent speech about Periyar has instigated the heat from the opposition parties, on the other hand, he was stormed by several film distributors after his Darbar met with unpredicted losses, as claimed by them.

Recently, film distributors met with Rajinikanth and they sought the actor has to compensate them for the losses they incurred after screening Darbar, which failed to bank the expected profit. The reports say that the distributors had decided to approach the actor after the movie's production house Lyca told that they are not accountable for the losses as per the contract signed.

Amid the uncertain developments, Information Minister of Tamil Nadu Kadambur Raju has, on Monday, said that the state government would help the distributors of Rajini's Darbar if they approach the government to resolve the issue. The Minister stated that the government will also direct the distributors to the Film Production council to attain the decision to conclude the issue. He added that no distributor had approached the government till now with solving the Darbar issue.

Earlier, the state minister had chaired a ministry meeting at the Chief Secretariat to regularize the movie tickets sale through government's build website and after wrapping up the meeting, Kadambur Raju said that the government has decided to introduce the online ticketing system and the mechanisms for executing the system would be discussed in the forthcoming meetings.

By admitting that the distributors have been complaining that there is no transparency in the collection for each film, Raju claimed that everyone can know the exact collection of the film after the online ticketing system gets introduced. He stated that the government has proposed to fix the ticket rate for the special shows with the view of getting rid of the sale of black tickets and collection of the unreasonable ticket rates.
