Vairamuthu is occasionally known for commenting on social and political events. Taking to the microblogging site, the renowned lyricist extended his wishes to Elon Musk, the world's richest man, for acquiring Twitter. Along with his greeting, Vairamuthu has also made an appeal to the new Chief of Twitter and his post has been going viral.

Vairamuthu wrote, "Hello to the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk! I greet you from Tamil Nadu, India. Let Twitter serve as a forum for both left and right wings. Don't give space to false information, profanity, and poor taste. Bring the culture of the world to order." Nevertheless, among internet companies, Twitter has consistently argued against legal sanctions that would discourage people from speaking out online for years.

Along with Vairamuthu, a score of celebrities extended their wishes to Musk for a historical takeover of Twitter. On Friday, Musk officially acquired Twitter after which he tweeted, "the bird is freed."  At a cost of US$54.30 ($84.60) per share, Mr. Musk paid US$44 billion ($62 billion) to acquire full ownership of Twitter.

According to reports, Mr. Musk obtained $46.5 billion in funding for the transaction in April. It's being worked on by Elon Musk as he plans to introduce novel procedures to Twitter. The users of this big social media giant are therefore eager to learn what changes he will make to Twitter.
