Death Penalty to TN man for Dalit girl Rape; Mahila court convicts! 

After one and a half years, Samuel alias Raja,  the verdict was pronounced for the sexual assault of a 7 year-old Dalit girl in Pudhukottai district. 

According to the reports, Raja, a flower seller who was the girl's neighbor in Embal village of Pudhukottai district had taken her to a private spot and raped her on June 30, 2019. The girl's parents have initially filed a complaint after knowing that the girl went missing from a village near Aranthangi in the district on June 30 last year. Later, police found her dead, and the Post-Mortem report conformed  that she had been raped and murdered. He was arrested on July 2 and police began to investigate him about the case.

On Tuesday, Mahila court awarded him to death for the aggravated penetrative sexual assault under the Protection of Children from Sexual offenses (POCSO) Act 2012  and under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code for Rape and Murder also convicted to life imprisonment for kidnap and murder under the scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
