Last year 41-year-old former Indian cricketer and former captain MS Dhoni has shown his keen interest to produce South Indian movies under his own production company 'Dhoni Entertainment'. When it was speculated that he is highly aiming to rope Thalapathy Vijay for his upcoming movie, it turned out to be untrue, as his first venture was officially announced today on their social media handle.
Harish Kalyan of Pyaar Prema Kadhal fame and Ivana of Love Today fame will be featured in the new film. Taking to Twitter on Friday, Dhoni Entertainment shared the update by writing, "We're super excited to share, Dhoni Entertainment's first production titled #LGM - #LetsGetMarried! Title look motion poster out now!" The motion poster of 'Let's Get Married' film, throws of a light-hearted and fun filled rom-com journey where it also has Yogi Babu in the crucial lead. The film will be directed by debutant Ramesh Thamilmani.
However, the movie is taking off only now, three months after that big announcement. After the initial announcement, fans and critics were abuzz with anticipation, eager to see what this movie had in store. Dhoni Entertainment (DEPL), a production company supported by cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni, has entered the mainstream movie production market. The company, which was founded in 2019, said it has started the various stages of producing entertainment content in mainstream languages.
Earlierly released press statement of the production banner when its first film production in Tamil was announced, it read "Reinforcing this extra special relationship further, Dhoni Entertainment will be producing its first film in Tamil, a family entertainer conceptualised by Sakshi Singh Dhoni, MD of Dhoni Entertainment,"
"The concept was fresh and had all the potential to be a fun family entertainer," the release quoted Ramesh Thamilmani as saying. The director who is known for author of ‘Atharva- The Origin’ a graphic novel featuring MS Dhoni as a superhero. In addition to Tamil, the production is in discussions with a number of filmmakers and screenwriters to develop and produce engaging content in a variety of genres, such as science fiction, crime drama, comedy, suspense thriller, and more.
