Venkat Prabhu, the director of Vijay's next, has been facing some unwanted rumours about his upcoming  ‘Thalapathy 68’. A Twitter user recently claimed that Vijay has asked Venkat Prabhu not to cast his younger brother Premji Amaren in the film, as he has been a regular feature in all his films. 

However, Venkat Prabhu has slammed the rumour and clarified that it was a joke that he made after Mankatha, which also starred Premji Amaren. He also urged the user to stop spreading hate and negativity on social media. He wrote, “This happened after Mankatha !! And was a joke! Please don’t do this, brother! #SpreadLoveNotHate”

Venkat Prabhu and Vijay have officially announced their collaboration recently, and fans are eagerly waiting for the further updates.  While many names have been doing the rounds on the film's female lead, the latest reports suggest that Priyanka Mohan, the rising star of South Indian cinema, has been roped in for the role.

Venkat Prabhu is known for his comedy and action films, while Vijay is one of the most popular and versatile actors in Tamil cinema. The duo is expected to deliver a mass entertainer that will appeal to all sections of the audience.  Premji Amaren has been a part of Venkat Prabhu’s films since Chennai 600028 to his latest Custody. He is known for his comic timing and quirky characters. 

Thalapathy 68 is produced by AGS Entertainment and has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has teamed up with Venkat Prabhu for most of his films. The cinematography of the film is handled by Siddhartha Nuni.
