DMK Anbazhagan's COVID-19 battle: Governor Tamilisai comes to help, sends a medicine!

As DMK MLA J Anbalazhagan is in a critical state and continues to battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, sitting Governor of Telangana and Former Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Tamilisai Soundararajan has now sent an anti-COVID-19 medicine from Hyderabad to treat the DMK legislator, who has been admitted at the private hospital in Chennai since June 2nd after he tested positive for the pandemic.

Anbalazhagan is one of the party's top leaders maintaining close ties with the leadership circle and he has become the first sitting legislator in the state to test positive for the virus. On June 2nd, he was admitted to Dr.Rela Institute and Medical Center at Chrompet, Chennai and he has been under the ventilator support since the admission.

According to the bulletin which was issued by the hospital on Monday, Anbazhagan has been receiving oxygen through the ventilator and there was a significant deterioration of his health condition on Monday evening and the hospital described his condition as critical. The sudden deterioration has shocked the DMK camp as the party leaders have been hoping for his recovery.

Amid the developments, Governor of Telangana Dr.Tamilisai Soundarajan has now sent a medicine (Remdesivir) from Hyderabad to Dr.Rela hospital to treat Anbazhagan. According to the reports, the governor has dispatched the medicine upon the request from the treating hospital. The medicine sent by the governor has been used by the state of Telangana for treating COVID-19 patients. 

This medicine has been administered to the patients admitted at the Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad, which is one of the important medical facilities in the city treating the virus-hit patients. 

Initially, Anbazhagan was managed with oxygen therapy through the facemask and he was getting 80% of oxygen through the ventilator last Thursday and following the treatment, his health responded well. However, it has again gone to the critical state. He was seen active on the ground with other party members for over a month to distribute the relief materials for the people who are affected due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown, as part of DMK Chief Stalin's 'Ondrinaivoom Va' initiative.
