This DMK Minister tests positive for Covid-19 for the second time!

Tamil Nadu Minister SS Sivasankar has tested positive for the Covid-19 viral infection for the second time in eight months and he has quarantined himself at his residence and made an appeal to those who met him recently to isolate and get tested. Sivasankar, who is among the club of first time ministers, has taken to social media and said that he had contracted the pandemic and has mild symptoms. 

Sivasankar, representing the Kunnam constituency as a DMK MLA, has been serving as the Tamil Nadu Minister of Backward and Most Backward Classes Welfare in MK Stalin's cabinet. Native of Ariyalur, he has also been serving as Ariyalur district DMK Secretary. He has tested positive for the pandemic, days after the 2021 assembly polls last April and in eight months, he has now tested positive for the infection for the second time. 

Taking to social media, Sivasankar said that he had developed fever and severe throat pain following which he had taken a Covid test. The result has come positive and he asked those who had met him recently to take precautionary measures. He has isolated himself at his residence in Ariyalur and after learning that the minister has tested positive for the pandemic for the second time, several DMK leaders and cadres have been expressing their prayers to the minister to get a speedy recovery. 

Meanwhile, the curve of Covid cases in Tamil Nadu has been sharply soaring and according to the state's health department, Tamil Nadu has reported 23,888 fresh Covid cases, 15,036 discharges, and 29 deaths on Tuesday - January 18. Overall, the state has recorded 29,87,254 cases so far as of Tuesday of which 1,61,171 are active, 27,89,045 were discharged, and 37,038 had succumbed to the viral infection.
