'Don't help Muslims'- says the Rajasthan hospital staff in WhatsApp! How it invited the trouble?

In a shocking development amid treating the COVID-19 patients, the hospital staff of a private hospital in Churu district in Rajasthan have reportedly taken a different turn on treating the patients by putting the religion on the front. The staff had discussed through WhatsApp chat about not attending the Muslim patients who are infected by the virus.

Their private discussion has come to the revelation after the screenshot of the chat circulated widely which had invited trouble for them as the police department has taken a note of it and booked them under the appropriate sections. The district police department has launched an investigation into the matter.

According to the reports, the police had lodged an FIR against the staff on Sunday -June 7, under section 153A - an attack on religion and 505 -statements conducting to public mischief of the Indian Penal Code and sections of violation under the Disaster Management Act.

The police said that the First Information Report has been filed against three persons - a doctor, a lab technician, and a compounder of the private hospital after they found that their act was against a particular religion during the initial investigations. According to the Sardarshahar police station in Churu district, the police control room has received a complaint about the discussion through the screenshot that was circulated on social media.

The reports stated the district president of Muslim Parishad Sansthan in Churu had reported the issue to the police. A message from one of the staff said that the particular staff won't do X-Ray for Muslim patients while another message said that they should stop attending the Muslim patients.

However, Dr. Sunil Choudhary, who runs the private hospital has posted his apology in social media in which he claimed that his staff didn't have any intention to hurt any religious groups and further stated that the screenshots were nearly two months old when Tablighi Jamaat cases were on the rise across the country.
