EPS and OPS expel two former ADMK MLAs from the party...Here's why!

ADMK leaders Edappadi Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam have on Friday expelled two former ADMK MLAs from the party for violating the party's principles. The expulsion drive has come hours after the party has convened the meeting in which the leaders had passed the resolutions against the DMK government.

Former ADMK MLAs Narasimhan and Ilavalagan were fired from the party. Narasimhan was also serving as one of the district secretaries of the party in the Tiruvallur district while Ilavalagan was the ADMK's district secretary in the Ariyalur district. Both of the former legislators were fired from the primary membership of the party.

In a joint statement, ADMK leaders Edappadi Palaniswami and Panneerselvam have said that both the former MLAs had indulged in the anti-party activities and they brought disrepute to the party. The party's leadership has directed the party leaders and cadres not to exercise contact with the expelled members.

On Friday, the ADMK had passed several resolutions against the party's rival -ruling DMK. Both the top leaders had proposed the resolutions of warning MK Stalin-led government in their bid of showcasing ADMK as a strong opposition party. The ADMK leaders had urged the DMK government to immediately implement its poll promise of a Rs 1,000 financial assistance scheme for women and the leaders said they would stage a state-wide protest if the DMK fails to deliver the promise.

The ADMK had adopted six resolutions and it also had demanded the DMK government to honour several poll promises given to women and warned of protests if the promises aren't kept. The ADMK has asked the DMK regime to fulfil the assurance of waiving off jewel loans from cooperative banks and it had further urged the ruling party to take measures to stop Karnataka's construction of the Mekedatu dam over the Cauvery river.
