Fans are eagerly waiting for his upcoming film ‘Jailer’, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, which is expected to hit the screens soon. Gnanavel, who impressed everyone with his recent courtroom drama ‘Jai Bhim’.
According to sources, the director has approached Chiyaan Vikram, one of the most versatile and talented actors in Indian cinema, to play the chief antagonist role in ‘Thalaivar 170’. Vikram, who recently won accolades for his performance as Aditha Karikalan in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’, is currently recovering from a rib injury that he sustained while shooting for Pa Ranjith’s ‘Thangalaan’.
Vikram, the mesmerizing star, savored every moment of the enchanting tale and his captivating role within it. However, whispers hinted at a flicker of apprehension within him when offered the opportunity to portray a formidable antagonist alongside the legendary Rajinikanth.
The buzz surrounding the grapevine revealed that Vikram found solace in the astonishing offer of Rs 50 crore from none other than the visionary producer, Subaskaran of Lyca Productions. Moreover, murmurs carried the promise of Vikram's character shining as brilliantly as Rajinikanth's.
If this deal materializes, it will be a treat for the fans to watch two powerhouse performers clash on the big screen. ‘Thalaivar 170’ is said to be based on a true incident, and Rajinikanth will be seen playing the role of a Muslim police officer in the film. The film is expected to go on floors in May this year.
