After a long gap of staying off-screen, Vijayakanth's favorite actor and one of the notable faces of Tamil Cinema Arun Pandian is preparing to make a re-entry to the big screens and he hopes to make it as a significant and promising one through picking up the subject that steered well in the Malayalam last year. 

Arun Pandian was among the important artists of Tamil Cinema in the 1990s and 2000s and apart from playing a crucial role in the action and thriller subjects, the veteran thespian had also shocked the people through his career swift. He has made his debut through the movie 'Chidambara Rahasiyam' in 1985 as a hero and he went on to play in action roles in some of the everlasting movies including 'Oomai Vizhigal' and 'Inaindha Kaigal'.

He has appeared in many films that were acted by Vijayakanth. Being one of the close friends of Vijayakanth, Arun Pandian has followed his styles and Vijayakanth's cameo appearance in 'Devan' movie that was directed by Arun Pandian had shown their friendship and it was that friendship which drove Arun Pandian into politics.  

In 2011, Arun Pandian contested in the Tamil Nadu legislative elections from the ticket of Vijayakanth's party DMDK. He won the elections and entered the state assembly during when the DMDK had observed alliance with the ruling ADMK party. However, after the political drift, he quitted DMDK and joined ADMK in 2016 and although he has joined the party, he stood off from the active politics. 

After many years, Arun Pandian gears up for his re-entry through the Tamil remake of Malayalam movie 'Helen' that was released in 2019 and saw a huge success. The veteran Tamil actor has brought the Tamil remake and he is going to act in the movie along with his daughter Keerthy Pandian. The shooting has been underway and it has been halted in the wake of the lockdown and restrictions. The reports stated that the shooting nears the completion and would hit the big screen after the restoration of normalcy as the actor and his daughter are hoping for a promising breakthrough.
